STUDIES IN CINQUE TERRE

Cinque Terre doesn’t announce itself loudly. it reveals itself slowly. Five seaside towns stacked against the Italian seaside cliffs. Every building seems considered, every colour is intentional, not perfect but enduring.

What stands out most to me isn’t how bright the towns are but how worn they are. sun-faded yellows, washed-out blues and greens. These buildings tell a story of salt air, long summers, repetition and care. proof that when something is built correctly, it doesn’t need constant reinvention. It lasts.

I believe longevity is the highest form of design. Clothes shouldn't peak on the first wear - they should improve with time. just like in Cinque Terre, the beauty comes from use.

Colour plays a central role in that philosophy. The palette here isn’t “trend driven” its environmental. The sea dictates the blues and the sun softens everything it touches. The colours are lived-in, they fade, layer and evolve. The colours are characters that deepen over time.

Walking through these beautiful towns with a camera you start to understand the relationship between time and design. You’re never capturing perfection - you’re capturing a moment that will never exist again. The imperfection is what makes it meaningful.
