THE AFRO LINEN TRUNKS

When I started George James, I wanted to create pieces that carried more than just style - they needed to carry a story. Our new ‘afro linen trunks’ are one of those pieces that come straight from my roots.

I grew up in South Africa, we would often go on bush trips (safaris) where giraffes would often wander across the horizon with a kind of unshakable grace. They became a quiet symbol of balance, adventure, and freedom for me.

When designing these trunks, I wanted to bring a touch of that world into something you can wear every day. The giraffe lining inside the pockets is subtle, but it’s a reminder of where this piece was born - a nod to nature, to home, and to adventure.

These trunks are built for versatility. I imagined two moments when creating them, lounging at home after a long day and heading out for an adventure - surfing, sailing, or just wandering wherever the day takes you.

For me, clothing should always tell a story. And these trunks? They tell mine
